The Spazmatics

Corpus Christi, TX 78401
Originally conceived in 1983 by physics professor Kevin Stigwoodt, The Spazmatics was born when Stigwood lost a bet and had to perform "She Blinded Me With Science" at halftime of his school's state championship basketball game. He enlisted the help of electronics teacher Sydney Balderman, his brother Curtis Stigwood and a TA named Rusty A. Woosmeir. The group stunned the student body with its spot on production, musicianship and choreography, earning a standing ovation. The makeshift band was approached by producers from Perfect World Entertainment to create a proper production that would go on to become a nation-wide celebration of the best and worst of 1980's music and fashion. Now pegged as The Ultimate New Wave 1980s Show, versions of The Spazmatics have popped up all across the US in major cities including Chicago, Houston and Austin, TX while the original Los Angeles-based group continues to perform weekly gigs at Zanzibar in Santa Monica while also rotating around to various clubs around the area.

Natives of Austin, Texas, Quiet Company is a big part of the local music scene. The four-piece is lead by singer Taylor Muse, who was once part of another musical act named Eisley, also from Texas. On occasional live performances, the main four are sometimes joined by others. Together, Quiet Company formed in 2000 and released their first album, Shine Honesty in 2006, and then followed that up in 2009 with Everyone You Love Will Be Happy Soon. The two of these albums along with the band's 2010 album Songs For Staying In is glorious indie power pop that's rife with catchy hooks and guitar riffs that ensures much hand-clapping and toe-tapping during live performances.

Aaron Lewis

Corpus Christi, TX 78401
Aaron Lewis is the lead singer of the band Staind. Lewis formed Staind in Massachusetts, where he grew up, and even though the group was known for its hard rock sound they performed multiple acoustic shows. He had played solo shows prior to forming Staind, but didn't release his debut LP Town Line until 2011. His debut single "Country Boy" features a verse by George Jones and a spoken word segment by legendary fiddler Charlie Daniels. Tow Line presents audiences with a different side of Aaron Lewis, since he has written lyrics about the American heartland, instead of the miseries of life.
