    »Tommy Emmanuel

    September 23, 2014 7:30 PM

One of the most respected guitarists of modern music, Tommy Emmanuel owns a complex finger style technique that has garnered him thousands of fans worldwide. Instead of using a band to create a melody, rhythm, and bass, Emmanuel requires only a single guitar to create fully realized songs. With a catalog of two dozen albums and a career spanning half a century, Emmanuel has collected well deserved critical acclaim since he released his debut album From Out Of Nowhere, in 1979. On top of his own solo work, he is known for his various collaborations with other renowned artists such as Chet Atkins, Eric Clapton, Keith Urban, and Stevie Wonder. Though he continues to release and perform new material for audiences all over the world, Emmanuel has already solidified his standing as a legendary master of guitar.

Greensky Bluegrass is a bluegrass band from Kalamazoo, Michigan that was formed in 2000 as a three-piece outfit. While recording its debut album Less Than Supper in 2004, the band decided to fill its soundscape by hiring a bassist and dobro player. Greensky Bluegrass released the first volume of its live album series, All Access in 2009, followed by Volume 2 in 2010. With its refined sound, the band began to reach out to a broader audience, particularly with its fourth and most acclaimed studio album, Handguns. The effort debuted in 2011 at number three on US Bluegrass charts.

    »George Clinton

    September 24, 2014 7:00 PM

As the leader of two of the classic funk bands, Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton has well-established himself as one of the genre's most eclectic and influential forefathers since the 1970s. His incorporation of psychedelic rock, over-the-top wardrobes and trippy stage setups took funk in a totally different direction that followers would attempt to mimic in future decades. With songs such as "Bring the Funk," "Atomic Dog" and "Can You Get to That," Clinton has scored over 40 hits on the R&B charts and maintained a successful solo career in the aftermath of Parliament and Funkadelic. His music and style have been hugely influential in the hip-hop world, especially amongst 1990s G-Funk artists such as Snoop Dogg and eccentric rappers like Andre 3000 of Outkast.
