    »Highland Creek Golf Club

    18 holes and 7,000 yards of rolling greens await you at this challenging venue, called “Charlotte's Crown Jewel." Tall trees and curving water hazards pose some of the toughest obstacles; hence the venue is a favorite with those who like to test their skills across the beautiful lake. Open to both men and women, the course has a 15,000 square foot clubhouse with separate lockers and a practice range, a putting green and a grassy driving range for amateurs. The course is open through the week, though tee slots need to be booked for a fee.

    These botanical gardens are run by the University of North Carolina Charlotte campus and are comprised of three separate sites- the Van Landingham Glen, the Susie Harwood Garden, and the McMillan Greenhouse. There is a wide variety of plants among the gardens, including rhododendrons, native Carolina flora, orchids, desert succulents, and carnivorous pitcher plant hybrids. There are also many walking paths and interesting landscape architecture displays to please the eye.     This country club is located around 18 miles from Concord. Practicing on its 18-hole course is a nice way to improve your golfing skills. Six hard-surface courts and four Har Tru courts provide the training grounds for a USTA team—they ought to be good enough for you too! A swimming pool with a wading area is especially nice for children. A country house with several dining options and a pleasant garden help you relax when you visit with your family. Opened in 1958, it is arguably one of the oldest of its kind in the city. The nine-hole course can be quite challenging, with sharp slopes, tricky turns and unexpected water bodies, but for those who play a mean game, it can be great fun. After a satisfying game, ravenous players can head back to the clubhouse snack bar for some deli-style sandwiches, hotdogs and other bites, along with a glass of spirits or a soft drink. The venue also sports several meeting rooms that can be rented for business meet-ups and conferences.
