Come to this festival to find yourself pleasantly trapped in a time warp. Encounter charming actors dressed in period costumes, selling their wares, chatting, enacting mock scenes from history and generally having a good time. Watch the street theater performances, pick up curios from the art and crafts market, and gasp in awe as the jousting tournament gets underway. Food flows freely at the event, with everyone digging in without worrying about anything. The event has burgeoned into a huge extravaganza over the years, with the venue being decorated with festive colors, pennants, lavish castles and humbler dwellings of the poor citizens of the time. Explore the fiery kitchens and rowdy pubs, hop onto one of the many rides, or try your medieval skills at the many contests held here. Want a wedding that's on off the beaten path? Celebrate it here amid all the fanfare—you are bound to raise eyebrows! Visit the website for more details.

Steve Poltz is a Canadian-born folk singer/songwriter based in San Diego whose success as a founding member of the indie rock band The Rugburns was somewhat overshadowed by his work with famed folk pop singer Jewel during the late 1990s. Poltz would release several critically-acclaimed albums after his debut album One Left Shoe was released in 1998, which, in conjunction with his work with Jewel and The Rugburns, earned him the title of "San Diego's Most Influential Artist of the Decade" at the 2000 San Diego Music Awards.
