CLT Meat Week is BACK! Eat Meat & Repeat w/ Good Eats & Meets Meat Week 2015 JAN. 25TH - FEB. 1ST Welcome to CLT Meat Week!  What the hay is Meat Week? Meat Week is a national holiday started in 2005 and is now celebrated in numerous cities across the United States. Each January/February, for 8 consecutive nights, people across the country gather over piles of BBQ. Meat Week typically focuses on good ol' American BBQ: Pork, ribs, brisket, barbecued chicken, and anything else you can smoke and smother in sauce. New to Meat Week? Let us be the first to extend a greasy hand and welcome you. There are no rules to Meat Week, but there are a few traditions that have evolved over the years. Here's what you need to know: How do I attend?  Go to www.meetup.com/geamclt and check out all of our spots for Meat Week and pick which night(s) you can attend.  Dont worry"I can't possibly make all 8 nights, can I still participate in Meat Week?" Everyone is welcome to attend all 8 nights, but no one is expected to! The intent is for Good Eats & Meets to have an event every night, in hopes that at least one night will be convenient for all who are interested, and that no one will have to meat in solitude. To explain is simplyPeople eat BBQ together, take pictures of each other doing so, take pics of the food and share them on the internet. Simple! Schedule: Good Eats & Meets will host events at different BBQ restaurants for 8 Nights, (Sunday through Sunday Jan 25th-Feb 1st).  I am always looking for other people to host nights, all you need to do is to be there and say hi to the other folks coming out...we will do all the rest! Please send me a message if you can host any of the days to goodeatsandmeets@live.com or if you want to add your own favorite BBQ spot. "How come you don't include Mongolian BBQ, Korean BBQ, or steak houses?" MEAT WEEK was started with traditional, southern BBQ in mind and that will be our focus. "I'm a vegetarian, I feel left out." We have had many vegetarians come out. There are even 2 other Meat Week cities that have captains who don't eat red meat. Many vegetarians come for the camaraderie, but stay for the sides. Just make sure the baked beans don't have pork in them (they probably will) or use French fries as a sauce vehicle! Check out this video on Meat Week and we hope you can make it outMay the meat be with you! http://youtu.be/s7jkF0zkMgc See you soon and come hungry!!!
