The Rockwell Universalist Church is a beautiful little church which was established in 1881. Spread across an area of 2 acres (0.81 hectare), it is built in the Greek Revival style of architecture. The church however does not have regular services being conducted today. It is open annually for a homecoming lunch.
From theater productions to country music stars to community events, the Classic Center Theatre in Athens has it all. Visitors can come and enjoy musicals or plays with many productions for children to watch as well. In addition, the Classic Center hosts community events, making it possible for organizations to rent rooms. And with its motto "Be Impressed," visitors can't help be anything but wowed by what the theater offers.
Established in 2013, University of North Georgia is a result of a merger between Gainesville State College and North Georgia College & State University. The joining of these two acclaimed educational institutions has made it one of the largest universities in the state. With four campus locations in Georgia, the university offers comprehensive degree and associate programs in numerous fields from engineering and computer science to business administration and international affairs. Firmly following the teachings of the Holy Bible and bringing people in closer communion with God is the prime aim of the Life Church. The church is led by pastor Ken Joslin, who enriches his congregation with Christian principles, being their guiding light. The service session is a casual and fun-filled environment, with music being an integral component of worship. Special mass for children are also conducted.
