During the 2000s, the English band Metronomy contributed its part towards bolstering the public's knowledge of the dance punk genre. Though the group often gets called a electropop act, Metronomy has a harder sound that's more mature than many of the bands that crank out electro infused pop songs. Despite loosing one of the founding members, Gabriel Stebbing, in 2009, the group has continued on and actually experienced somewhat of a second wind now that Stebbing is gone.

Famous as both a Tony-winning Broadway musical and a star-studded film that won Jennifer Hudson an Academy Award, "Dreamgirls" is a soulful sensation and a chart-topping favorite for millions worldwide. Featuring '60s Motown hits and inspired by true stories of R&B stars like the Supremes, the Shirelles, James Brown and Jackie Wilson, "Dreamgirls" follows the tumultuous rise to fame of a female trio from Chicago whose joy and celebration come hand-in-hand with deceit and betrayal. The sparkle, sass and sorrow of the girls' journey is captured in unforgettable songs like "One Night Only," "Cadillac Car," "Steppin' to the Bad Side," "I Am Changing" and the gorgeous torch song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going."

Three professionals -- a geographer, a stenographer and a typographer -- grapple with the significance of their professions and the impact their work has on their lives in "The Typographer's Dream". The show's cast of three undertakes a humorous and meaningful exploration of art and business, boundaries and (auto)biography. Called "funny, provocative, psychologically revealing, intellectually stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable" by the "San Francisco Chronicle", "Dream" was written by Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Bock ("Swimming in the Shallows", "Medea Eats", "The Thugs", "The Receptionist").
