Unlike other schools, West Ashley High School follows a syllabus that is designed to help students succeed in today's fast paced life. With a wide variety of subjects like linguistics, civics, sciences, business marketing, engineering design and military sciences, the students can select their field of interest and pursue it from the beginning itself. Their schedule also includes inter-school sporting activities, resulting in all round development of the students. The scholl also has its very own in-house band. Various performances including arts and community events are held in the school auditorium throughout the year. West Ashley High School's new campus has three Open Houses.
This gothic-style structure is over three hundred years old. Since it was built it was bought by many people and is currently owned by Patrick Properties. The Lowndes Grove has various venues within 6,800 sq.ft area. Formal dining rooms, parlor, bays overlooking the lawn, and also the smaller River House. Weddings and Corporate events can be held here, while tours of this place can be organized by prior arrangement. Five guest suites are available for accommodation well-equipped for comfort and luxury.
Built in 1939, the McAlister Field House is known for hosting some of the most awaited sports events of the season. Featuring three courts for basketball, this space can accommodate around 6000 people during game nights. A part of 'The Citadel', this facility holds wrestling matches, volleyball games and men's basketball matches. Catch all the action amongst cheering crowds and feel the adrenaline rush at this well-equipped stadium.
Opened in 1948, the Johnson Hagood Stadium is a 18,000-seat football stadium named after Brigadier General Johnson Hagood. Home to the Citadel Bulldogs football team, the venue has hosted the NCAA Division I National Championship game in 1983 and '84. The stadium was purchased by The Citadel from the city of Charleston in 1963. The stadium has undergone a 40 million dollar makeover and the finished facility includes grandstands with premier seating sections, a press box, club level seating and a club lounge.
The Arthur Christopher City Gymnasium is equipped with a basketball court, game room, Tiny Tot Room, concession area and library. Every year, they hold a basketball series for men and women, and youth summer camps. On Fishburne Street a 24,000 square foot gym will replace the old one and will also be called Arthur Christopher City Gymnasium. It will include a gym with bleachers, multipurpose room for activities such as aerobics and yoga, and a fitness room with equipment. The place will also include a playroom for children, a game room, a small library, dressing rooms, showers and a kitchen.

Ashley Hall is an all girls school. The rooms inside and the lawn of McBee House, an incredible example of a Regency Villa located within the school grounds, are all available on rent for various events and functions. The rooms include the MacDonald Drawing Room, Hubbard Board Room, Sottile Thompson Recital Hall and a porch, which can accommodate up to 150 people for cocktail parties and receptions. The lawn, Burges Auditorium, the Davies Auditorium each auditorium has stages, podiums, state of the art light and sound system, a screen and a piano.
Started in 1999, the center houses a performing arts theater, ballroom, meeting rooms and coliseum. The interiors of the center is beautifully done with rich colors and textures giving the center a very elegant look. The center provides full staff and catering support for any function—corporate or social. Apart from this, there is ample parking space available in the center premises. Charleston Area Convention Center Exhibit Hall is managed by SMG Convention Venue Management. Spanning across 77,000 square feet (7153.53 square meters) of the Charleston Area Convention Center's space, it can be divided into three areas or used as one huge venue. It is used for trade expos, shows and exhibitions.
