Seven Mile Beach is falsely named, because it's actually five and a half miles long. Nobody really complains though, because all they really need is enough space to lay on a beach towel on this gorgeous strip of coral sand. Seven Mile Beach is the tourist center of Grand Cayman, located just north of George Town and including resorts like the Westin Casuarina, Hyatt Regency, Coral Sands, Grand Caymanian and even the local Ritz-Carlton on the northern end. Smaller hotels and villas also abound along this strip, together with restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
The National Gallery, founded in 1996, focuses all its energy on spotlighting Caymanian art. In addition to sponsoring local artists' trips abroad, the gallery hosts six to eight exhibitions every year here at its headquarters. The place is also home to an impressive permanent collection, a modest gift shop and the beloved art library. See website for visitor info, event calendar, virtual galleries, educational programs, mission statement and more.
Devil's Grotto and Eden Rock are among Cayman's best-known and loved dive sites. You'll find it miraculous that this coral system is so close to shore. Packages combine the best in shore and boat diving from our 42-foot custom dive boat. We offer PADI, SSI, BS-AC certification and student referral dives. Scuba equipment sales, rentals and repairs are available.
Located on the waterfront in George Town Don Foster's is the in-house Comfort Suites dive operator. Located along Seven Mile Beach, Don Foster's offers 1-tank and 2-tank Stingray City or night dives, as well as instruction and resort courses. There is easy-access to the boat from all major attractions in George Town with varying diving times.
Experienced Caymanian Crew dedicated to providing the best service for the perfect tour and holiday. Use of Snorkel gear, with transportation to and from boat are included in the price. Private charters are available upon request.
The South Wall is further away from tour operators, and thus is often only visited during bad weather or on special request. The Wall itself also starts much deeper, at 80 to 90 feet. Hole in the Wall and The Sisters are two good wall dives to ask for. The area is possibly more famous for its excellent shallow dives, which include the Japanese Gardens and Della's Delight among canyons and reefs of coral.
Experience Grand Cayman from the back of these first class, professionally trained horses. These large and beautiful horses rent for USD60 each for a 90-minute beach ride along the pristine shore. The ride takes place on an uninhabited stretch of beach along the north wall, and experienced riders are allowed to canter several beach trails. Included in the price of the ride, pick-up service along Seven Mile Beach is provided for convenient access. There are different rates for summer and winter packages, and be sure to check out the website for specials like the Evening Sunset Ride and the Full Moon Ride.
With boats ranging from 17 to 65 feet, Black Princess is fully equipped for deep sea, reef, bone and tarpon fishing. Enjoy an educational visit at the world's only commercial sea turtle farm. See thousands of turtles, ranging in size from six ounces all the way to 600 pounds. For a great addition to your photo album, hold on to one of the smaller turtles, if you can! You can also see flora and fauna native to the islands here: crocodiles, agoutis, iguanas, fresh water turtles and the Cayman's native parrot are all on display. The Turtle Farm is conveniently located on Boatswain's Beach.
Guardian Of The Reef is a bronze statue by Simon Morris and is placed under 65 feet (780 inches) of water off the Grand Cayman. Commissioned by the owners of Divetech, a popular dive shop, this sculpture is a fusion of an ancient Roman warrior and a seahorse and can be seen while scuba diving. Installed to generate awareness about ocean conservation, the Guardian serves as a powerful reminder to preserve numerous creatures of the sea.
