The life of Yuma is well displayed in this museum of Arizona Historical Society through a vast range of exhibits. The visit to Sanguinetti House Museum will be quite informative if you are interested in the history of the locality.
The Lake Havasu Museum of History helps to preserve the historical heritage of the Lake Havasu City area for future generations. Exhibits on the London Bridge, mining, steamboats, Parker Dam, and the Chemehuevi are on display.
Providing history of the Yuma Proving Ground, a test area for the U.S. Army
General George C. Patton made history on another desert far away in North Africa, but he trained his troops for battle right here at Camp Young. Now, an adjacent museum recognizes his contribution and the effect of the war on the Palm Springs region. The museum is located about thirty miles past Indio at Chiriaco Summit. Special events are held regularly, especially on Veteran's Day and other key dates. There's a coffee shop and a small functioning airfield. Only cash is accepted.
