The VFW Post 6803 is located on the Red Arrow Highway in Watervilet. Apart from housing interesting war ephemera, it is also home to one of the rarest pieces of World War II artillery. Installed in its yard is the rare 1918 cannon used in the World War II. Manufactured in the United States, when most of the arms and ammunition were of French make, these 1906-design beauties are extremely rare as only 200 of them were produced. The almost-a-century old cannon now sits proudly reminding people of its contribution in the war that changed the world forever.
