Located within the large Continental Grand Hotel complex these facilities include a large swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, bowling center, and a well laid-out fitness center with free weights and a few stationary bikes. However, most people come here to enjoy the pool with its artificial beach and wave-maker. Great for kids but packed on the weekends.
The health club located within the Radisson SAS includes within their schedule of events morning Taiji lessons. This may be of interest to those wanting to find out more about this traditional Chinese form of movement. For those looking to work out in a more modern environment, the facilities also include squash courts, a 17-meter pool, outdoor tennis court, one treadmill, two exercise bikes, one rowing machine and a basic sauna.
Lido Country Club is associated with Clark Hatch fitness centers and should not be confused with the health club located within the Holiday Inn Lido Hotel. The Hilton Hotel now offers non-guests an opportunity to use their health club facilities. One of two Clark Hatch Gyms in Beijing, it is a large and well-stocked gym. The staff is well trained and able to speak English.
The excellent Health Club at the Kempinski Hotel also serves as a meeting place for those living and working within or around the complex. There are actually two separate facilities. The Pulse Club, with squash courts, aerobics room and comprehensive workout facilities, is located in the basement floor of the Kempinski office complex. The Kunlun Hotel, on the eastern Third Ring Road, has opened its fitness center to the public. Facilities include a well-equipped gym with free weights and universal gym equipment, a large swimming pool, and a sauna. The pool can be busy when children staying at the hotel decide to have some fun.
A members only club, the Culture Club is an expensive alternative to Beijing's hotel health clubs. Facilities include a 20-meter pool, three treadmills, four rowing machines, four stationary bikes, a nifty rock climbing machine, a great selection of free weights, and a universal gym. Members also enjoy a fine Western restaurant, an English library with a selection of current magazines and an Internet cafe.
The Landmark Towers offers a nice little gym that will not break your bank account. Facilities include state-of-the-art fitness and weight-training equipment, a 12-meter indoor swimming pool, massage room and sauna. Of interest to those with children is the supervised children's play area where they can take part in games and activities while you work out.
The Sanquan's Clubhouse is owned and managed by Swissotel's The Firm. A large and comfortable complex, facilities include a 50-meter pool, three treadmills, two step climbers, three stationary bikes, free weights, outdoor tennis courts, one squash court, and computer golf. A nice sauna and jacuzzi are also on site. As it is located within an apartment complex, it is always busy.
This club, located within the large Swissotel complex, is known better as The Firm. For those really serious about working out this is one of the places to be seen. Facilities include a 14-meter lap pool, four treadmills, five stationary bikes, two step machines, free weights and resistance equipment. Mats for stretching and tumbling are provided as well as punching bags. Regular dance aerobics and yoga classes are included with purchase of membership. English is spoken.
Located on the fifth floor, The Health Club at The Regent Beijing, is up to date with the latest equipments in the fitness industry. Cross trainers, recline bicycles and a range of other weight training equipments are featured here along with an indoor heated swimming pool and jacuzzi. Group sessions like yoga, Latin dance and aerobics are also conducted. With a variety of membership schemes, the gym is for the fitness freaks and those, who want to shed those extra pounds.
