    »Jaraguá State Park

    A bit of the Atlantic Forest in an urban area of São Paulo, the Jaraguá State Park has become famous for the spectacular views of the city it affords. An excellent picnic spot, Jaraguá State Park is also extremely popular among hikers for the numerous trails on offer. The numerous antenna towers found at the peak are slightly unusual, but take nothing away from the natural beauty of the park.

    »Chácara do Jockey

    The Jockey Club of São Paulo is one of the largest venue in the city to see a show, with sprawling dimensions, it appears as if it can contain the entire city. From Saturday to Monday, the horses and jockeys take center stage with the race track. However, the club also is very popular for weddings and private events as well as hosting concerts from some of the most famous names in music. Everything under the sun can be found here as far as entertainment is concerned, other events include, car racing, the ever popular soccer and a place for diplomats and candidates to meet and campaign. Its location is a little outside of the city, but no matter what, any event that you see there is worth the trip.

    »Cidade Jardim Hippodrome

    The Hipódromo de Cidade Jardim is located in the neighborhood of the same name. This racing hippodrome was established in 1941 and features four lanes in a closed loop. Two lanes are used for races, with a few training lanes as well as grass areas. It hosts equestrian events of the Jockey Club of São Paulo that are scheduled on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. With free admission, ample parking, and a bar and restaurant on site, it attracts a large number of visitors. Children can use the playground as well as enjoy a pony ride.

    Famed as ECP, the Esporte Clube Pinheiros is one of the best places to go to if you are a sports enthusiast.     »Parque da Água Branca (Fernando Costa)

    Established in 1929, Parque da Água Branca is one of the city's most popular open spaces. Officially known as Parque Fernando Costa as a tribute to former Secretary of Agriculture, Dr. Fernando Costa, who was instrumental in its creation, the park has retained much of its original character from the days when it was used for animal husbandry and agriculture. Although it is a nice picnic spot, the park is actually known for the many animals and birds, among which oxen, geese and chicken are a few, that can be found here.

    »Parque Burle Marx

    Parque Burle Marx is one of the most beautiful parks in Sao Paulo. The park opened its gates in 1995 and is used for sporting or leisure activities. A massive green space, this park was designed by Burle Marx and boasts of sculptures and a variety of exotic plant species belonging to the Atlantic. This is indeed a lovely place to stroll around or enjoy a picnic with family and friends.

    »Parque Trianon

    A little jungle surrounded by a bustling metropolis, Parque Trianon, also known as Parque Tenente Siqueira Campos, has been in existence since 1892. It showcases native plants and various sculptures. Spend a few hours exploring the winding pathways of this delightful park, situated just across the street from Museu de Arte de São Paulo.

    »Horto Florestal

    Horto Florestal, also known as Parque Estadual Alberto Löfgren is one of Sao Paulo's biggest nurseries. They have the special Arboretum Trail which has lush Japanese pine, Brazilian pine and rosewood, and if you are lucky you can even spot a few wild animals. Their recreational area conducts exciting boat rides touring the entire nursery. You could also engage in a fun train tour of the nursery along with your young ones.     »Ibirapuera Park

    Inaugurated in 1954 to celebrate the city's fourth birthday, and designed by famous architect Oscar Niemeyer together with landscape designer Burle Marx, Ibirapuera Park covers an area of almost two million meters and is São Paulo's very own Central Park. Museu Afro Brasil  and Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo are found here, as well as the famous obelisk and the Monumento às Bandeiras. There are also sports grounds, a jogging track, a children's playground, a restaurant and a snack bar.
