Mansell House and Gardens, home to the Alpharetta Historical Society, is a veritable historical and natural splendor. Nestled amidst a verdant garden with a charming gazebo, Mansell House used to be a Victorian residence, reminiscent of the times of Queen Anne. Roswell Cherokee Memorial is a tribute to the region's native Cherokee people who were forcefully evicted from their lands in 1838, and lost their lives in the process. The memorial is located along The Trail of Tears and is part of a project to spread awareness about this historical aspect of the city.

Offering many educational nature programs, Autry Mill Nature Preserve & Heritage Center is also home to a number of historic buildings. Trails lead visitors past such relics as the deBray Chapel and a farmhouse that dates to the 1880s. Stop at the visitor center for wildlife and historic information, and to inquire about such regularly-scheduled activities. Nature trails, summer camps, heritage walks and many more educative and entertaining activities are conducted at this center.
Cogburn Road Park is a small local park with a well-laid path which is ideal for joggers and walkers. The park also has a cute play are for the little ones.
The former home of Barrington King, one of the co-founders of the city of Roswell, Barrington Hall is a beautifully-restored property that has maintained its stunning Greek Revival style of architecture. Most of the family’s original furnishings have been retained, thus preserving the glory of the home. Barrington Hall is surrounded by seven acres (2.8 hectares) of lush manicured grounds featuring one of the only antebellum public gardens in the greater Atlanta area.
